SASSA Bellville Launches Community Outreach Programme at Delft Civic Centre
Getting help with SASSA services will be easier for Delft residents on 24 July 2026. Instead of travelling to the Bellville Local Office, community members can visit the Delft Civic Centre, where SASSA’s Bellville Local Office will host an Integrated Community Registration Outreach Programme (ICROP) from 07:00 to 15:00. The initiative aims to bring essential social grant services closer to the community.
Why the Office Is Setting Up Away From Bellville
This is part of what SASSA calls its Integrated Community Registration Outreach Programme, or ICROP for short. The thinking behind it is fairly practical: many people in Delft rely on taxis or buses to get to Bellville, and that costs money and time before they’ve even joined the queue. Setting up closer to home eliminates that step.
It also spreads the load. Bellville’s office deals with a steady stream of people every day, and outreach days like this one take some of that pressure off while giving Delft residents a shorter wait than they might get at the main branch.
What You Can Actually Get Done There
Staff on site will be handling most of the things people usually go into Bellville for, including:
- Applying for the Older Persons Grant.
- Disability grant applications and questions.
- Child support grant applications.
- Foster Care Grant applications.
- Reviews on grants already in payment.
- General questions about a grant’s status.
- Help is available for applying for a grant online for those who would prefer not to come in again.
There will also be someone on hand simply to explain how the different grants work, which is often the part people need most and get the least time for at a busy branch.
What to Bring
Not every document below applies to every person, but it’s worth having what you can on hand:
- South African ID.
- Municipal rates document, if it applies to you.
- Proof of unemployment from the Department of Labor.
- Marriage certificate or customary marriage confirmation, if relevant.
- Three months of bank statements.
- Latest payslip, if you’re employed.
- A SASSA affidavit, if one is asked for.
- An email address and cellphone number that are actually in use.
If you’re not sure what applies to your case, that’s fine staff on the day can talk you through it rather than turning anyone away for missing paperwork.
