What is the eligibility of a SASSA grant?

To qualify to get a grant offered by the South African Social Security Agency, the applicant is required to have some criteria: age, income level, disability conditions or need to care for another person. Most grants are means-tested i.e. you must have less income and less than a certain amount of assets to qualify.

The applicant has a right to appeal within the stipulated period in case of refusal of an application.. The case is considered without references and an appeal may need the applicant to submit extra documents or information on his/her case.
